IS IT THE END OR THE BEGINNING ?
We are at the end of a very spectacular winter ice fishing season. The lack of people on our lakes this past week and weekend have shown us that there is just not a real good reason to venture out on to the ice.We had a huge snow storm a few days ago, that dumped a half foot of slush and then at least another half foot of powder snow everywhere . The shoreline is still slushy and wet in many areas, and the snow drifts and snow cover now make it hard if not impossible to tell where there is safe ice or a disaster waiting. And no life is worth that.
THIS IS THE NORTH SHORE LINE
OF LONG LAKE 3/5/17
The good news is that we are into March and will see the herald of SPRING. Ahh, that felt good to say. In fact there is a possibility of rain the next three days, after two nights around +5.
So, to make a long story short maybe, Bucks Bait shop is closed until MAY 5. We do not advise anyone at this point to risk ice fishing on Long or Grand lakes. We also know that someone will. Happens every year. There’s that ” oh there’s plenty of ice left out there” mentality that sometimes leaves quads, trucks and other equipment at the bottom of the lakes. It is of course entirely your call, but we do hope to see ALL of you this spring.
Thanks for all of your business this winter.
SEE YOU MAY 5, 2017
