LOOKING GOOD

June 15th, 2013 by Budd

Here we are half way done with June already, and still seeing temperatures in the 40’s and highs only approaching 70. These cool temps seem to holding a lot of folks away from the lakes, and the ones going out there are loving it. They are catching fish, and have the lakes all to themselves, every fisherman’s dream.

If the fishing was bad folks, i’d be the first one to tell you, but it is good.I am seeing Walleye brought into the store, and pictures of nice fish. The customers who are going out there are coming in here on a regular basis, about 3 times a week for bait, and most have a smile a mile wide when you ask how’s the fishing going for you ? The perch fishing sound very good, as do the walleye. Bass are still hitting very well, and pike are pretty easy to catch, using any bait they feel like hitting. The depth changes frequently due to the up and down temps, but the fish can be found with a little bit of time, and a graph certainly helps too.

A lot of folks are asking about the mayfly hatch here, and they are hatching a bit now, as they have for hundreds of years. What I’m saying is that these bugs do not stop fish from eating, they love those bugs and become more aggressive and careless hitting baits like yours. They don’t bite or sting, and they really are just a natural occurring event.. I encourage you to get out there and try fishing right now, and enjoy some nice catches. We are fully stocked and look forward to seeing you soon, at Buck’s, THE HOME OF LORIE RIG
