” SUNNY AND PLEASANT “

June 3rd, 2013 by Budd

Our future forecast for this area is ” sunny and pleasant.” We’ll take it We certainly have had our share of rain and cold, and then hot, then cold again. When the weather has been decent though, we are getting some good reports from customers regarding their catches. Boats are appearing back on their docks now, and our tourists from down state and out of state are starting their vacations. What a welcome sight this is. We continue to hear about nice catches of Perch from both Long and Grand lakes, and the Walleye fishing sounds very good right now. Bass are still being caught in huge numbers, but I would think they are off their beds by now.
As is normal for this time of year, the fastest moving live bait here is crawlers, and it is being used with Lorie Rigs or Lorie Fly rigs. The artificial baits are the good old familiar ones, Rapala, Hot ‘n Tot, Jitter Bugs, Tubes, Mepps, and a lot of lead heads tipped with crawlers or leeches. The depths of these fish will change almost on a daily basis as does our crazy weather patterns. We have gone from highs in the mid 80’s to highs in the mid fifties. , and this almost has to change the water temps in a lake that is only 20 to 25 feet deep.
We hope to see you here soon, no matter where you are coming from, and enjoy some fishing and fish dinners.
