We are getting closer to winter now, and the bare trees and colder air is a testimony to that. I am estimating that we will be opening  sometime early in December, but if ice appears sooner, that will expedite my time frame.

In the meantime, we are experiencing a good fall season, hunters and color tours are doing well. Our color here in Alpena is past, and many trees are bare of  leaves. We took a trip to Minnesota this past week and the color there is the same, gone.

While we wait out this last month of down time, we are building up our ice fishing supplies, and have come up with a fabulous new item for winter and summer fishing. Lorie Rigs has designed and in the process of building a new addition to her Lorie Fly rigs. We will have a brand new Pike/Walleye rig, similar to the fly rigs that worked so well for you . The new rigs will have two glow treble hooks, lazer  sharp, and rigged onto 25 lb test big game line. The flies on these trebles are spectacular, and sure to be a huge hit. They will go well with jigging, tip-ups, and summer fishing. We will offer size 2, 4, 6. Of course we will also offer the same fly rigs you have enjoyed so far.

We are excited for winter to get here, and hope for an early ice season.
