FISH, IT’S WHAT’S FOR DINNER TONIGHT

July 24th, 2012 by Budd

Fishing is our foremost interest at this bait and tackle shop, and when someone brings in a stringer of Perch and Walleye   from Long Lake, and does so in a matter of a an hour or so, we take interest and a picture. These fish were taken in an area that is disclosed, namely the Big Gravely Area. Jim does not hide any thing from others and is an asset to the lakes. While Jim does what most other fishermen will not, namely tell location, depth, bait and tackle and methods used, he consistently catches fish. and never suffers negative results from positive behavior. Thanks Jim.

My family has done quite well this year also, with catching fish in Long Lake. and the fishing on Grand  Lake evidently is going quite well, with nice results coming in from the Grand Lake fishing Derby last weekend. Nice fish, good sizes in all categories, and some very happy contestants. And just wait until the pictures come out next post, with all the species caught on Lorie fly rigs and Lorie rig crawler harnesses.

The depths change from week to week, as does our weather patterns. But 12 feet is pretty average, and crawlers and leeches are the two top choices for live baits. Artificial baits include Hot’N’Tots and jointed Rapalas.

July is rapidly coming to a close, so we hope you get a chance to get out and fish these two great inland lakes this summer.

OPEN 7 TO 6 DAILY, 7 DAYS   A WEEK.
