MEMORIAL WEEKEND
MEMORIAL WEEKEND IS GOING TO BE HERE VERY QUICKLY NOW. AND EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN COLD MOST DAYS, THE INITIAL FISHING REPORTS ON LONG AND GRAND LAKES HAS BEEN QUITE EXCITING.
EARLY BASS SEASON IS OPEN AND A LOT OF FOLKS ARE ENJOYING THAT. WE HAVE HAD SOME PEOPLE, THAT HAVE BEEN FISHING FOR BASS, WALLEYE AND PERCH ALREADY, AND HAVE ENCOURAGING REPORTS.
LONG LAKE LAST WINTER SEEMED TO HAVE LOCK JAW, AND GRAND LAKE FLOURISHED. BUT THIS SPRING, BOTH LAKES ARE SHOWING A ROBUST BEGINNING SEASON. BASS BAITS, CRAWLERS AND LORIE RIGS ARE THE BEST CHOICES SO FAR. SOME MINNOWS AND BERKLEY LEECH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN WORKING AS WELL. SHALLOW WATER SO FAR, 6 TO 8 FEET OF WATER, AND THE FISH ARE VERY STRONG WHEN CAUGHT. MUST BE THE AIR..
MUSHROOM PICKING HAS BEEN A LITTLE SKIMPY SO FAR, BUT THEY ARE BEING FOUND. WE PICK BY LAKE HURON, SO THE COLD NIGHTS HAVE NOT HELPED. FURTHER INLAND THOUGH, THE HUNT HAS BEEN MUCH BETTER. AND THE FRUIT OF THE HARVEST IS WORTH THE EFFORT. JUST BE CAREFUL OF THE FALSE MORELS, THEY ARE OUT TOO.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK, AND GET OUT ON THE WATER. THAT’S WHERE THE FISH ARE.
OPEN 8-5 FOR NOW
