Here’s what we know for sure in this area, Long and Grand lakes . As of today, Dec 18, a week before Christmas day, we have people ice fishing on both lakes.

The estimated thickness of our ice according to my customers is about 6 inchess of hard ice. The snow so far is minimal, maybe an inch of snow on the ice, so far.

HERE COMES THAT WARNING. All ice is not safe, all 5,600 acres of ice is NOT 6 INCHES or all safe.

But we DO have people and quads out there ice fishing, NOW. We say it every year, be careful, observe others out there, ask questions .

The good news is the fish being caught on both lakes. Large perch and large walleye , . I KNOW this is true by the pictures, repeat bait buyers, and a general good attitude from customers.

Bait being used is primarily blues for all species, and suckers for pike. Hooks and lures varies and we have plenty of choices. If you want to know exactly WHERE these guys are fishing, then drive by the lakes and look. That simple. I can’t look for you because I am in here all day, everyday.
