ITS AUGUST, NOT OVER

August 5th, 2019 by Budd

This time of the year summer starts to wind down due to certain matters that families need to attend to. Such as school clothes and other needs for their children. Also, many vacations must come to an end soon, and school itself starts soon in many areas.

But fishing for the rest of us does not end, and this shop will stay open and stocked with live bait and tackle until there are no customers coming here.

Fishing has been VERY good on Long Lake, and good on Grand lake. The long lake fishing derby was a success and nice fish were brought in. The weather was perfect, and people have responded very favorably to the catches.

The big story has been the great perch catches on Long lake. Minnows work best with Lorie’s fly rigs, but crawlers will also bring in perch. Another interesting catch has been pike. Small medium, large. They are biting crawlers right off docks, and boats. Unusually high numbers of them. You may want to switch to the steel harnesses we have. A lot of folks have.

Bass fishmen tell me bass fishing is good near shore lines, docks, weedbeds and rock piles, which we have lot of. They are using a variety of artificial and of course night crawlers on Lorie’s fantastic assortment of crawler harnesses.

We are OPEN

7 TO 5 WEEKDAYS
