LISTEN UP!

June 26th, 2019 by Budd

I hope you are all ears when you hear this report!

We are closing in on July 4, very quickly now. We are not seeing as much rain or wind, and on the days that are nice we are hearing much better fishing reports than previously.

I would say about 5 days ago, weekend of June 21, we started selling a lot more bait and tackle and hearing some good fishing reports from both Long and Grand lake . This was entirely due to  better weather conditions . Not every day has been perfect, but fishable.

Bass, walleye, perch, gills and crappie have all been caught by our customers.

We’re moving a lot of giant Canadian crawlers out, leeches and minnows.

A lot of tubes, spinners, frogs, stick baits and a LOT of Lorie rig harnesses and fly rigs.

Water levels are still high, and yes there are some Mayflies out and about. As we have said for years (26), this is a natural occurrence, not a reason the fish WON’T bite. Other way around. Fish get reckless and do eat these insects but they will also hit almost anything you toss out to them. It is certainly no reason to vegetate on the couch. There’s no fish there for sure.

SUMMER IS HERE. Time to get up, get out, and get some fish.

We hope to see you soon.
