A VERY GOOD WEEKEND!i

January 14th, 2019 by Budd

This past weekend was very productive for our customers. Lorie and I heard so many good fish stories and good ice reports, that we were greatly encouraged and want to share the good news.

It was mentioned by most customers on Long an Grand lake, that the ice they were on was 10 to 12 inches thick and in good condition.

When customers come back the next day for more bait and leave here in the dark, ( 7 to 8 am) we know they are being successful and confident of their area. The stories were great, and it sounds like a lot of big walleye are coming out of both lakes. Perch are being caught in good numbers, and the surprise story was all the blue gill and crappies being caught on Long lake .

The baits used were pretty much the same as always, blues, perch minnows ( small blues) wax worms, and suckers for both pike and big walleye. The suckers we sell here are about 6 inches and perfect size for bigger fish.

Tackle ranged from tear drops to jigging Rapalas, Halis and Buckshots. No big surprises there.

Lorie’s fly rigs and tournament rigs (treble hook rigged) were working excellent.

WOW. What a relief to have such a wonderful and productive weekend. And we just got started.lots of winter and fish left. If you want a detailed idea where the folks fish ,what Lorie rigs are, come and see us here. If we don’t answer the phone it’s because we’re with customers. Best to just come on in here for info.

The lakes are 5,600 acres. NOT ALL ICE IS 12 INCHES THICK.USE CAUTION, ASK QUESTIONS, LOOK FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
