Happy new year folks. 2019.

We have some news regarding ice fishing so far on Long and Grand lakes.

Our lakes are frozen. Few lakes so far have good ice but we have ice. BUT WAIT!

Good ice does not mean take out cars and trucks and use reckless judgement. Excellent ice is just around the corner. Last night we hit 10 degrees, but just prior to that we had 50 degrees and rain.

We have heard that a full size vehicle, one in each lake, punched through the ice Sat. Dec 29. No death or injury but still, WAY too risky right now.

We have a lot of customers coming through here early morning, dark, and going fishing. Either walking or using quads. If you are not familiar with the lake or your area, look for other people fishing. Ask questions.BE CAREFUL.

We still have a lot of winter left, cold weather is back, be careful.

GOOD NEWS. A lot of nice fish are being caught, perch, walleye pike, bass.

Most folks are using blues, Lorie Rigs, Swedish Pimples. Hali rigs, Rapala jigging rigs, and an assortment of other rigs we have here.

Can’t say it enough, be careful out there, it is true, Lorie and I would like to see you folks EVERY day, but not hurt or worse. Ice IS FISHABLE. But not all over. That will change soon.  Ok, enough parenting. Get over here, get fishing, have fun.
