A few days ago a friend who lives on Long lake reported he has 3 inches of good ice. He was going fishing that night.

All of our nights and most days have been below freezing, so it looks good for ice fishing.

Long lake and Grand lake are about 5,600 acres, each. This leaves a lot of room for a variety of ice stories “more ice, less ice” and so on. So our best advice we issue every year is USE EXTREME CAUTION in the beginning and right on the rest of ice fishing season.

We have snow on the ground right now. About 1 inch. The lakes may be very slick, and we’d like to remind you, we have an ample supply of ice cleats. Several types including studded sandals, several sizes.

We will re-open Dec. 14, Friday, when the bait ruck arrives. About 9 am.

We have a huge inventory of ice fishing equipment and fresh Lorie Rigs. Sleds, rods and reels, tip ups, knives, too much to list. ALSO, GIFT CERTIFICATES for that hard to buy for person. Any amount, credit cards accepted.
