Memorial weekend just days away now. We have been open for a few weeks now and there have not been a lot of folks out fishing yet. But those that do go out are coming back with great success and happy to have the lakes to themselves.

That is about to change this weekend with vacations, weekend warriors, and much better weather.

What we’re hearing so far is very good bluegill catches, good perch catches, fair walleye catches, and good bass fishing.

And at Rockport harbor steelhead are hitting. Thunder bay area is giving up some very nice walleye, and bass

The walleye are hitting stickbaits and crawler harnesses. The blue gill and perch will take minnows or crawlers. The steelhead are hitting spoons and golden shiners.
