Yes we have a lot of ice here on Long and Grand lakes. We hear stories of between 12 and 16 inches of ice. We also have a lot of snow and that means you have to be extra careful out there.

Why don’t YOU just keep the fish big guy.

We have had an enormously good start to ice fishing, but had a lull for a few days this week when the temperatures dipped into the sub-zero range. Yep, it was actually too cold to ice fish. The guys and gals are telling me that they are catching good amounts of perch and walleye. We’ve seen the pictures, and have seen the minnows and tackle leaving here at a pretty good rate when the weather is tolerable.

Don’t forget there are some tournaments coming up this month and next. The 27th of this month is the second annual FISH FRENZY tournament on long Lake. Entry fee 10.00. We have tickets and wrist bands here. This is a good tournament, well managed and pays out the entire amount of tickets sold.

The REEL FUN ICE TOURNAMENT is Feb 24, details on the web, we have the tickets for that too. $25.00.

A wide assortment of lures and colors has left this shop since Dec. 5, and the lead item is still the Lorie Rig  fly rig . All colors are working, just pick your size to match the bait.
