BROWN TROUT DERBY JULY 14 TO JULY 23

July 10th, 2017 by Budd

The Michigan Brown Trout Festival is about to start this Friday. This event will take place at the small boat harbor in Alpena Michigan and will last until July 23.

This gala event is a combination of fishing tournaments, and entertainment. There  will be live bands playing, art festival, food and beverages for sale, and enormous payouts for fish brought in. You must sign in or register to participate in the fishing tournaments. But everybody is welcome to enjoy the other events, and there is plenty to see and do. This all takes place on the shores of Lake Huron, in downtown Alpena. Look for the enormous American flag flying at the harbor and a lot of traffic and happy people, and you are there.

Bucks Bait and Tackle has always been prepared for business for this event, with salmon lures, and tackle the fishermen might need. We have things like Dipsey Divers, lead core, stainless steel cable for riggers, line counter reels and rods, spin and glow lures, and for those entered into the  walleye division we have first class crawler harnesses made by Lorie rigs just for Lake Huron. 36 inch heavy duty big game line, and premium blades and beads to attract those money winning fish. These harnesses even bring in very large pike.

If this event does excite you, then you will also be  happy to know our perch fishing on Long and Grand lakes  continues in an accelerated pace. Lorie rig fly rigs, minnows, = plenty of perch and great meals.  Don’t miss out on this huge event either, it will not last forever.

We are open 7 to 6 daily

We  are open 7 to 3 Sundays.
