VERY NICE
The tournament that was held on Long Lake this past Saturday went off very nicely thanks to the men who created and ran the event. A lot of nice fish were caught and the ice and weather co-operated very nicely. A big thanks to the sponsors and the contestants. There are no adverse comments or events from this that I am aware of. But there were a lot of compliments from fishermen as well as business owners in the area, ( us included ) that benefited from the event.
But it does not end there. The ice fishing on these lakes is continuing to produce some big numbers of nice perch and walleye.I’m told the depth is still at about 14 feet of water, close to the bottom. This may sound like an old record, but the best baits and lures have consistently been Blues and Lorie Rigs. Of course a lot of other baits and tackle work as well, but these two items are hard to beat if you want some fish.
Our ice is solid and about 12 to 16 inches thick in most fishing areas. There is now a slight amount of snow on the ice.Just perfect for feet, quads, or snow machines. This season has been one of the very best we have seen in this shop in the 24 winters we have been at this store. Don’t miss out on a great chance to have fun.
And don’t forget, Feb. 18 is the Grand Lake Association Derby, free to all who enter, no sign up required. Feb 25 is the ” REEL FUN FISHING EVENT” that yields enormous opportunities for 45 kick ass prizes, including a John Deere Gator as first prize. WOW. We do have the tickets for that right here at Bucks Bait Shoppe.
