Yes, we have good ice and the fishing is still the best it has been in many years. There have been reports from down state and beyond that they have no snow, bad ice, and warm air and rain. We have had some up and down   temperatures this winter for sure, but our ice base is very good and our customers tell us that there is somewhere between 10 and 18 inches of ice. I would never tell you a story about the ice conditions that is not true. Sure it’s wet on top now, and that will change in a few days when the temps once again drop.

But the customers keep coming in here and getting equipped to fish and keep on getting fish and sending me pictures and giving me stories of their success. MOST.  Not all by any means are catching nice big perch and good amounts of keeper walleye.

There is a tournament next Sat, Jan 28 on Long lake. We have tickets for the event, so come on in and enter. SOON.

The same bait, Blues etc, is working well, as are the Lorie Rigs and a host of other lures. Come on in, get on out, catch fish. Have fun here in Alpena.
