The 2016 Long Lake family fish derby is over, and we had a lot of winners. The youth and adult divisions both brought in magnificent fish for prizes to be awarded.So to all of you who participated, thank you and you are all winners. Also a thank you to all of you who made the donation to the Association so that we can continue to have this fun derby next year, what a worthwhile cause to support. A big thank you also, to the many volunteers who year after work that derby no matter how hot, windy or nasty the weather might be. These men and women who work for absolutely nothing, deserve a big thank you too.

We are hearing some good reports from Lake Huron anglers again in regards to some Salmon, Lakers, and a few other species coming in right now, at the Rockport area, Presque Isle area, and Alpena area. We’ll keep an eye on this good news and see what develops as time goes on.
You must surely know by now if you have been here to fish our lakes that the inland lake water levels are very low. Some folks are blaming the lake associations for this. Well, think about this, almost all lawns are dry and brown, the corn and other crops are destroyed in this area to a huge extent due to no rain, so who would you blame for all of that ?
We hope and pray for rain and soon, but until that time comes, we are thankful that we still have a good amount of water and fish, and you need to enjoy this if you can.
