I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS

December 27th, 2014 by Budd

It would appear that a huge and severe cold front is headed our way, right now, and that is good news. People fishing on these two lakes, Long and Grand, are surprising us  with stories of great success with perch and walleye. We did have rain and warm weather at Christmas time, and now the real winter as we know it is finally knocking on our door. But, there are a lot of people fishing right now, choose a safe spot and go.

Our minnow dealer told us that he heard from a bait shop in East Jordan where  he was delivering minnows to,  that Grand Lake in Alpena  was the place to get big perch and a lot of them.  Wow, do we like that publicity.

We are getting a lot of calls from down state, out of state, and locally as to ice conditions and fishing, and snow. We have NO snow right now,we have some good ice and great fishing. The future snow fall looks at best, slight, but the ice condition’s will only get better, much better  starting tonight, Saturday, Dec. 27. Single digit lows are predicted for all of next week’s night time, and we highly recommend that you give us a try.

We do know this for absolute sure. Perch minnows, blues, and pike suckers are selling very well here. Wax worms, are selling and we will have wigglers Monday. Dave says they will be big, gnarly and active, and catch fish. Great !

We have sold so many Loire Rigs this past two weeks that she has had to work overtime to keep that stock full, and has managed to do just that. Use these rigs for your minnows, waxies and wigglers, and catch fish. Be sure and at least look at them when you come in. Try them and you’ll be sold on them.  We also sell the traditional tear drops, jigs, spoons and an assortment of hooks, as well as rod and reel combos and terminal tackle.

Enough talking, let’s fish.
