FINALLY, SUMMER HAS ARRIVED

June 21st, 2014 by Budd

We have put the first day of summer behind us and look forward to the rest of the glory days, just ahead. While we started out cool, the fishing and catching has responded very favorably.

I should mention right away, that at the shop we have suffered a catastrophic failure with our minnow tanks. We will have no minnows for you until September, when the old tanks can be replaced and new ones built in. We apologize for this lack of minnows, but we can do nothing about it for now. Our 30 year old wooden tanks, a centerpiece in our shop, finally just wore out, and need   to be removed and replaced.  While summer minnow sales are a very small part of this shop’s business, we do regret seeing customers disappointment in the loss. We will still carry live giant Canadian crawlers, and leeches of course, our mainstay of live bait, and we will still have an excellent supply of terminal tackle and lures, as well as great deals on fishing rods and reels.

The end of June is near, and the season will get very busy now with fireworks, derby’s , and other events.

Long lake and Grand lakes have been showing some real good catches of fish. Walleye, Bass, Perch, Gills, and nice Pike catches as well.

Thank you all for your business and understanding with our minnow tanks. Most of you do realize that not having minnows here is a first for us in 21 years, and we plan to rectify that soon. Your courtesy and support is greatly appreciated.

open 7 to 5 daily  7 days a week.
