YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE HEARING THIS…

January 17th, 2014 by Budd

After enduring a week of harsh winds, frigid wind chills, and a suspicion that these conditions  might just be what Long Lake and Grand  Lake needed, we sent out an expeditionary force [ family members] to assess the ice quality on these lakes today. We were pleasantly surprised  to find the lakes in very good shape, and that the slush was greatly reduced or gone  in most areas. On Grand, my grand son and three of his friends went out on snow machines and found that once about 100 feet out from shore there was no slush, and the machines performed very good. The ice was about 18 ” thick, and solid. Standing, walking on the ice produced no problems and they commenced to ice fish. I have not heard from them yet, but they were  very excited to be out there fishing.

Long Lake was explored by our very own Lorie and her husband, who ventured out onto Long Lake, from the  south end, on their snow mobile, and launched from Birch Street, off of Greenwood St. and drove to the very north end of the lake arriving at Cook Stove. No problems what so ever, and they stood on the ice, amazed at the difference they experienced just  last Sunday. They  cannot wait to actually ice fish tomorrow, and the entire lake is now in wonderful condition for fishing. We are thrilled.

And we are sure that you will also be thrilled if you like to ice fish, snow mobile, or drive a quad for fun. Come on over to our shop and get supplied with the things you’ll need to catch fish. We are fully stocked and ready for your business. The ice is thick, the surface is great, and the weather is just like winter should be.

There are three things you will need for sure out there, ice , Lorie Rigs, bait. The ice is already there.
