THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

August 22nd, 2013 by Budd

As this summer winds down in time, the fishing is winding down too. We still have some great fishing going on, but the numbers of boats and people have diminished dramatically. The annual school clothing hunt goes on, as well as other school supplies, vacations come to an end, and the crowds thin down. What we see in their place is an influx of wild life, such as Eagles, Owls, Geese, Ducks, etc. The woods are starting to come alive with different animals moving around, evidently getting ready  for the coming fall and winter months.  We’re seeing more road kill and animals in the yards hunting for those fresh vegetables folks have been nursing along  all year to enjoy.

For those of you unaffected by the schools  and vacations, you will enjoy some peaceful days and nights out on our lakes these next few weeks and week ends.  The perch fishing has been the big topic here all summer on both Long and Grand lakes .Walleye have been caught, not all huge but a lot of them, and Bass, wow what a year for very big Smallies.  And they can still be caught easily and in big numbers. Pike have hit frequently, in all sizes, and the Blue gills and Crappies have made for a very rewarding year for adults and youth.

Stop in for some live bait, do not pass up on Lorie Rigs, for crawlers and fly rigs . Be careful of cheap imitations.

So my message this time is that there is still some good weather here, and some great fishing, and some very private times for you out there.  If you enjoy fishing, you should come to this area and relax.

We will be open for the rest of the season from 7 to5, Mon thru Sat

Sunday from 7 to 3
