Winter is almost here, Dec 21, the official start of winter. Here in Alpena, we have had some ice in the bay areas, and some in the Thunder Bay river. We have had snow, and lots of rain to wash away most of that snow and ice. We have no safe ice right now, but it’s about to happen soon.

We still plan on opening the bait shop on Dec. 19, unless some very cold and sustained winter weather changes those plans. We definitely want to open as soon as possible, and will.

         Our shop is ready for winter with winter ice tackle and the minnow tanks are full of water and waiting for those cold winds to create our ice
