Most say that where there was seven inches of ice there is still six inches of good ice, and there is some honey combs here and there, but by and large they show no fear of the ice, and are using spuds and good judgment by being cautious.. Most of my customers are going out when it is late enough to see the ice good. About 8 am as apposed to 7 when we open. We did not get any snow to harm the ice and the flurries we got highlight where there is ice and if there are wet or open areas. so far so good, and the ice is only getting better day by day. right now it is 14 outside. One problem that always occurs is the holes left on the ice that get bigger when it rains, then seal up with a good freeze like we have now. Those spots need special attention and should not be walked on or\u00a0re-cut\u00a0for a few days.<\/p>\n<p>The fishing has been good too, for catching on both lakes, with all the old favorite spots still being just that. We have seen both pictures and fish brought ion for show and tell here. \u00a0By far the most popular bait used here is the blues, but the greys are being used for those \u00a0big walleye and pike.<\/p>\n<p>Be \u00a0careful and enjoy the lakes.
