About a few weeks left for Walleye and Pike \u00a0before the season closes for \u00a0ice fishing. \u00a0 The fishing on Long Lake and Grand Lake has been better than previous years and continues to be so. The results of \u00a0the Grand Lake Association Tournament Feb. 18 certainly proved that. There were some very nice Walleye, Perch and Pike caught.\u00a0 And the fish being caught by Lorie and her family are dispelling a lot of rumors that the fish have slowed down. \u00a0They have been catching good amounts of \u00a0Perch, and a lot of Pike, of all sizes. \u00a0The Walleye have been few and far between for them but \u00a0not for others they see fishing out there.<\/p>\n

The ice, for now, is safe, about 8 to 16 inches thick, and we have snow now too, so snow mobile owners \u00a0are having a great time out and about too.<\/p>\n

There have even been Perch DOUBLES caught \u00a0as well. The Lorie fly rig is the secret for these catches. The bait has been mainly wigglers lately, as well as blues and greys. But the wigglers have been really the top bait for about a week now on Long Lake. About 18 feet of water and just let the rig set on the bottom. Use a tip up or jig the bait<\/p>\n

The main thing to remember though, is that you do have to get out there to catch these fish. And there is no guarantee at any time that you will slam the fish, but there are days and times that make it all worth while, unless you just don’t like to fish.<\/p>\n
