This weekend, Feb. 15, Saturday, there will be a lot of great outside events. Feb. 14, go ahead, celebrate Valentines day.THEN, there are events in this area worth checking out.SATURDAY, FEB. 15,\u00a0 Grand Lake will be having their annual FREE fishing derby for you. No fee to enter, AAAAND, this is FREE FISHING WEEKEND. No fishing license required for anyone, ANYWHERE IN THE GREAT STATE OF MICHIGAN.But you still have to follow all rules of size, limits\u00a0 etc.,you know.<\/p>\n

NEXT, there is a fun filled POLAR DIVE EVENT, ON LONG LAKE,\u00a0 \u00a0in front of the Sand Bar and grill. You will see costumes on the divers, and have a ball watching this event. This event is designed solely to BENEFIT SPECIAL OLYMPICS EVENTS. A great cause and great entertainment.<\/p>\n

THEN, there is a very good reason to be at this event. Afterwards, you will be in a great spot to go ICE FISHING.\u00a0 And you will be right in front of a VERY GOOD BAR AND RESTAURANT TO WARM UP AND RELAX.<\/p>\n

The ice on long Lake is in better shape now due to frigid temps and there is plenty of snow for snowmobiles and quads. This is a great time to be in this area. And BUCKS\u00a0 BAIT SHOP will be fully stocked with minnows, wigglers, waxworms, tackle, and of course….LORIE RIGS.<\/p>\n

The Grand Lake Fish Derby\u00a0 is a free event.Not just the no license required, but also the derby is free to enter, the cash prizes and gifts are yours if you enter . Th entire lake is open to fish in, and the prize headquarters is at the very north end of the lake,\u00a0 at the pavilion on highway 638. You do not have to sign anything, just show up before 7pm. Start when you want to. Be careful on the ice, watch for any soft spots and do not be afraid to ask questions of folks already out there. This is a very friendly area, just don’t drill holes too close.\u00a0 I’m sure you\u00a0 all know that already.<\/p>\n
