FINALLY!! We have much better reports coming in now from folks fishing on Long and Grand lakes. I’m referring to the ice conditions.The fishing remains good to strong, and\u00a0 the customer feedback on the ice conditions shows a much better outlook then previous reports. I have heard ice thickness reports ranging from 10 inches of ice to 4 inches of ice. there is snow on the lakes now and there are most definitely some areas with less ice. We are hearing of snow machines on the lakes now,\u00a0 as well as quads. I have NOT heard of any trucks or cars on the lakes.<\/p>\n

I am sure you have studied weather reports just like I have, about a dozen times a day. The good news is that we see very cold air coming in now and it appears to be staying with us. Winter is finally here. AGAIN, exercise caution for a while longer, watch for others and ask questions. But it does look very encouraging\u00a0 now, finally.<\/p>\n

SATURDAY, JAN 25, on Long Lake the first ice fishing tournament will take place. it is called the FISH FRENZY OUTDOORS tournament and has been around now\u00a0 for several years. The event will be on Long Lake, take off from the DNR\u00a0 MAR RAL boat launch site. There will be prizes given away, cash prizes and a very well run tournament. It will cost just $10.oo bucks to enter, and all money received will be paid back to you as prize money. The designated area will be marked by the tournament directors and staff. ONLY this area will count for prize money and prizes. The event is January 25th, Saturday from 8 AM To 4 Pm. You may sign up right here at BUCKS BAIT SHOP, $10.00 cash. you will receive a wrist band and sign up takes about 1 minute.<\/p>\n

We will open the bait shop at 6 AM\u00a0 for you, and will be fully stocked with bait and tackle. AGAIN,\u00a0 this is a well run event, by dedicated men\u00a0 who are well versed in the rules and regulations for this event. THIS IS A FUN EVENT !!!!<\/p>\n

The fish caught will be perch, walleye, blue gills\u00a0 and pike. GOOD LUCK EVERY BODY. HAVE FUN.<\/p>\n
