This June 10 and 11, is the annual spring free fish weekend. This means ANYONE \u00a0can fish anywhere in Michigan without a fishing license. But you must follow all rules that apply to fishing here.<\/p>\n

Memorial weekend was a good weekend here, with some very good catches of walleye and bass. The \u00a0weather patterns however, were not that good for us. Plagued by rain and wind and low temps a lot of folks left the area early due \u00a0to this.<\/p>\n

Walleye have been caught though in good numbers \u00a0in Long and Grand lakes on the fish-able days. Small mouth bass were caught in very good numbers and there were some perch and pike as well.<\/p>\n

Off of Rockport harbor pier, some nice Atlantic Salmon have been caught. The golden shiners we sell here have worked well, and maybe better than artificial baits.<\/p>\n

The most productive baits by far for those walleye were night crawlers on Lorie Rigs. Casting, trolling, jigging, the bite was just plain on and quite good.<\/p>\n
