FISH ON !
We have had some very nice weather lately, and the sun is bringing out the fishermen. We have a picture of a young man on a river bank, on Long Lake, “hammering” the Perch. We saw them too, and they were caught right away. The river is loaded with Perch they said, and we could see them . This is not Shubert Creek by the way, which is closed to all fishing right now. These fellows are legal and pumped up, what a delight to see folks fishing and catching and enjoying this nice weather.
The sucker run as of today has not started, maybe due to the fast cold water in the streams and rivers, but they’ll be there soon too, as well as the pike and walleye.
There have been boats trolling the Thunder Bay for Walleye, and also trying for Lake Trout. And Long and Grand lakes are now 100 % thawed, and waiting for your arrival. Last Saturday in April is opening day for Pike and Walleye and that is coming soon.
We’re still on target to open May 6, and we’d like to thank all of you who helped us rake out the lawns and get rid of the stones from snow plowing. Hold onto those gift certificates we gave you for fishing this summer.
The shop looks good, the tackle looks great, and the Lorie Rigs look spectacular.
See you May 6, for our summer opener.
