IT WAS ALL, WE ALL, HAD HOPED FOR

January 19th, 2015 by Budd

This past weekend in a word, spectacular. We had so many folks coming into the shop,  and a lot had sons and or daughters, and the weather was perfect. No rain, wind or white outs, and about 35 degrees.

Now this alone would have been great news for the families as well as businesses such as ours, but the catching, wow, that was a pleasant surprise. We saw a lot of Perch catches, as expected, but there were some really huge Pike brought in for viewing, as well as some very good sized walleye.

Both lakes produced fish, and as far as we can tell from customers, the ice is fine, as long as you use caution. I do believe we say this every year about this time. Have fun, but be careful.

We did indeed sell a lot of bait, tackle, and  took  some pictures . And the customers this weekend seemed to all be in good spirits, and we love seeing that.

The ice is about 12 to 16 inches thick now, and very little snow, so travel by foot, snow machines and quads is quite easy. We are now in a very cold weather pattern again for the rest of Jan. so I would think that ice fishing will be very  good for weeks to come.

We did have good reports on our Lorie Rigs, thank you, and the Golden Shiners were a big hit too with the Walleye and Pike.

We hope to see you soon, and often.
