ALL KINDS OF GOOD NEWS

August 5th, 2014 by Budd

August is the last great month of summer for most of us, and often times is the best for you the customer, and us. This August may just be that type of month. After struggling through May, June and July weather, we appear to have made a turn for the better.  The winds have died down some, the temperature is warmer, and the fish are biting better again.

That Long Lake Fish Derby went well and told us a lot of  good  information at the weigh in station. Fish were brought in, the people had a great time, and the fish have been caught from all kinds of depths and locations. A winning Walleye was caught off a dock in the south end, in three feet of water. Large Perch have been caught in Silver Weeds, the very North end of the lake, in 8 to 12 feet.We are hearing similar tales from Grand lake.

And a huge surprise for us, we have had Salmon customers in buying products and telling us about catching Salmon from the Rockport Harbor area, and though not huge fish, very nice. 12 pound range. Some bigger some smaller. If you are a Salmon fisherman you might want to try this out.. Yes, it has been a while.

Less than a month until Labor Day, school, etc etc, so don’t contemplate, activate, get out there and catch fish, soon.

We hope to see you soon, and remember ALWAYS FISH WITH LORIE RIGS.
